Milledgeville Homes
Historic Milledgeville is affectionally called "Milly" by the locals. It is home to two historic colleges that give this small city a progressive heartbeat and really cool college-town vibe. But the history of the town is colorful and most interesting. In 2022 Southern Living Magazine voted Milledgeville as one of "22 Best Small Towns to Live". Georgia College and State University and the Georgia Military College were both founded in the 1800's and serve to anchor the historic town. Between 1804 and 1868 Milledgeville served as the state capital of Georgia. Another claim to fame is the infamous Central State Hospital. The old campus is open for a driving tour to marvel at the size of the original grounds and historic architecture. With Lake Sinclair and the Oconee River passing through Milledgeville, there is always something to do on the water and tourist come from all over to make Milledgeville their hometown or vacation destination.
